Hi!
I recently read this blog post by Sandy Allnock and was greatly inspired by it so I created some cards:
If you aren’t familiar with Sandy and her work, I highly encourage you to bookmark her page and watch her videos when you are able. She is such a talented artist but more importantly she truly is a great teacher! I have learned so much from her.
I began by doing some very basic watercoloring. I am really into watercolor these days. I know that it has been very popular in the past year but I just can’t get enough of it. I hope to learn even more about it this year (one of my Crafty Goals!)
In Sandy’s video she die cut an image and backed the paper with white. I did the same thing.
I pulled out an order stamp and die set (sorry, it is retired – Sizzix swirls) and ran each piece through the Big Shot. I used the larger die on one piece, and the smaller on the other. It left a beautiful die cut that I can use on something else.
I finished off the cards with a Thanks die cut using Glitter paper:
On the second card I stamped Happy Birthday in Night of Navy (Stampin’ Up!) and popped up the yellow piece for some dimension. The last thing I added was a blue flower.
Thanks for stopping by!
I am entering these cards in the following challenges:
I love both of your cards and how you used the die cut. The glittery sentiment tops it off perfectly. Thanks for joining us on the Simon Says Stamp Monday Challenge.
