Hi there!
Today I played with some with alcohol inks:
I began by adding three alcohol inks to Yupo Paper. Yupo is a synthetic paper that works well with this medium. I added drops in random spots on the paper and spread it out by using my Tim Holtz marker spritzer. It works really well! I saw the idea of using this tool over on Stephanie’s blog. She also mentioned that if you lay on the alcohol ink fairly thick it will be sticky afterwards.
I remember the stickiness from the time I made homemade Easter eggs. When I finished creating this background, I laid a piece of Decofoil on top and a little of it stuck to the card stock leaving a little sparkle behind! (Also Stephanie’s idea!)
After creating this, I trimmed it down to fit an A2 card base of Kiwi card stock.
I pulled out my Pear2stamp set and stamped and die cut one pear. I added it to the background but added a strip of Strawberry card stock to break it up a little. I stamped the sentiment on a white label and thought it was too plain so I added some decofoil glue around the edges and once it dried for about 30 seconds, I laid the piece of foil on top. It left behind a little rustic border of shine!
You have to look closely – but you can see it! This was hard to photograph-
I tied on some strawberry gingham ribbon to finish.
