Papertrey Ink Make It Monday #309 Heat Embossed Stenciled Backgrounds

Today I created a card for the Papertrey Ink Make It Monday #309 Heat Embossed Stenciled Background Challenge.

This one took me several tries. I pulled out a couple of embossing powders and using the Quatrefoil stencil created my background.

I really liked the first one on black. It features Judikins Extreme Peacock powder which works best on dark card stock.  I cut finished the piece by cutting it out of one of the Mix and Mats.

The powder is very light:

But really shines on black card stock:

I liked the others I made but I just couldn’t get an idea going with them so I will save them for later!

After settling on the black background, I chose purple as my base because I could see some of that in the powder.

I embossed the card stock with an older Stampin’ Up! folder to give a little more texture.

The circle comes from the Don’t Forget to Write Make It Market kit. I embossed in silver the sentiment You are so Loved. This was a recent freebie set from PTI and it is so sweet. I stamped one of the hearts in Red ink and after cutting it out, added Glossy Accents for dimension.

Thanks for stopping by!
