Hello!
Today is the PTI April Blog Hop.
Photo from Megan Carter
I wasn’t really sure about this color palette. This couldn’t be further from my comfort zone!
This is the beauty of the challenges and why I participate, they push me to do something different.
I didn’t have any idea what to create until I pulled out the stencils from the newest Make It mini – Lovely Lace.
I pulled out three Distress Stains – Weathered Wood, Squeezed Lemonade and Carved pumpkin and starting dabbing the colors over the stencils in the kit.
Next I used Transfer Gel from Thermoweb to create some bases for foiling. I spread the Gel over various pieces of white card stock.
Here are the pieces after the Gel dries clear:
I cut up foil pieces (gold, pewter and copper) and ran the paper through my laminator.
Here is what I got:
These are two cards I created:
MIM Garden Gild kit, embossed with copper EP
I will be able to make several more card with the remaining bases. : )
Thanks for stopping by!
I am entering this card in SSS Wednesday Showers and or Flowers.
Such interesting and fun backgrounds. I think they turned out lovely. My favorite is the solid lacy one with the hints of metallic!
Look like you've had fun with techniques to make your fabulous cards
The backgrounds are pretty cool!
Both are beautiful, Katherine! You had me stumped at Transfer Gel but love the metallic results.
What a neat technique! Looks great!
