Papertrey Ink Make It Monday #278 Window Chipboard Sentiments

Hello!

I created a card today for the MIM #278 Window Chipboard Sentiments challenge.

You can check out Stephanie’s video HERE.

I started off strong on making this card – then I came to a halt! I decided to use a die from The Stamps of Life that has the words and a Shadow. I die cut the shadow into the white card base so I would have a little more room to open the card once the sentiment was attached.

I blended some distress ink around the sentiment on the front and this is where I stopped!

After that step, I couldn’t decide what to do next. Does that ever happen to anyone else???

I took a few days off from it and came back….

I dug around in my craft stash and pulled out the Christmas Critters stamp and die set. This is the first time I used it so it took me a little while to figure out that I should die cut the Critter first and then stamp him because you need to have the ears stamped correctly or the die cut won’t fit!

I had several die cuts from the Color Pop Florals so I added a trio of flowers in the bottom left and added my critter beside them.

I die cut a balloon from Birthday Style and embossed it with a banner folder to give a little texture. Before popping that up I added white twine and “tied” it on the mouse’s foot.

Under the balloon I glued one streamer also cut from Birthday Style.

I added Clear Wink of stella to the flowers and balloon.

The sentiment was die cut 5 times, layered and glue down last.

This card is a lot busier than I normally make but I like how it turned out.

Thanks for stopping by!

I love how it turned out! Clever to use the shadow die, mine is kind of stuck lol Pretty colors and I adore your flowers and that textured balloon! Definitely pull out the Shakers & Sprinkles Kit, you'll be happy you did!

How cute to have the mouse hold the birthday balloon!! This set really can be used year round. And smart to use the shadow dies…my word gets a bit stuck when opening the card.
