Papertrey Ink Make It Monday #276 Kraft & Colored Pencils

Hello!

Hope you are a having a good weekend. We walked as a family in a community race this morning and sold Girl Scout cookies after that so it has been a busy but good day!

I created two cards for the Make It Monday #276 Kraft & Colored Pencils Challenge this week.

I rarely use Kraft card stock and it is a shame because it makes the most beautiful cards!

Melissa provided a great video this week using Kraft card stock and colored pencils. Check it out!

I stamped and embossed four poppies from Unity Stamp company. These are some big, bold poppies!
I colored three images with a red watercolor pencil and the fourth one I colored orange.

I used a Dove Blender pen to smooth the color out a little.

The flowers were cut by hand and grouped together to make a large cluster.

I had to create a 5.5×5.5 card to fit the blooms.

After cutting a piece of Kraft dotted paper I tied a piece of Kraft ribbon (from the great PTI sale) and mounted it all to Pure Poppy card stock.

The image was embossed in gold and matte gold sequins were scattered around the flowers.

Since I had one poppy left over I made a second card.

This one features Smokey shadow card stock and dotted paper. After attaching to the base I added the orange poppy and the Thanks was die cut from Soft stone.

The bow was made with New Leaf ribbon.

Supplies Used:
PTI:
Smokey Shadow, Canyon Clay, Pure Poppy, Soft Stone Card stock
2009 Bitty Dot Basics Paper
Pretty Frame Cover Plate
Kraft and New Leaf Ribbon

Poppy stamps from Unity Stamp Co.

Thanks for stopping by!

I am entering this card in the Word Art Wednesday Challenge #272-273 Anything Goes

Love your poppies! And yes, colored pencils look great on kraft…just like ink. It's more of a softer, subdued look. Great job! I also have a large stash of Unity rubber stamps that don't get used much ever since I've been with PTI. Happy to see you still use yours. ?

Lovely set of cards! I really like your big orange flower. It's also fun to see orange/black that's not Halloween.
