I am very excited that Stamp A Faire is here! Papertreyink always does such an amazing job with this day and it is always fun to participate in it.

I used Lexi Daly’s inspiration picture of a work by Piet Mondrian.

I know this piece very well as I used to teach this to Kindergarteners. They glued down the black lines from construction paper and we painted a few squares with tempera paint. This lesson was a great way to introduce lines and primary colors.

I pulled out my PTI Vertical Stripes Cover Plate and ran it through my Big Shot to get some black strips.

I randomly placed them on the cardstock and after I liked my pattern I cut off any extra pieces sticking off.

I decided to ink the squares with primary colors using a sponge dauber. I wanted it to look like what my students would do when they painted with tempera instead of a solid paper shape.

I added a black die cut and that was it!

So much fun, quick and easy and brought back a lot of fun memories from art class.
