I finally got around to watching the Make It Monday #253 Reverse Stenciling video today.

I tried to use this Papertreyink stencil yesterday for then blog hop but it didn’t work quite right for me so I decided to try it again today!

After pressing the ink pads onto the stencil, I spritzed it with water and laid it on top of the paper.

You can see you can get very different results, depending on how much or how little water you use.

I plan to use the extra backgrounds I made for more birthday cards. You can never have enough of those!

I even attempted one with Christmas colors.

I created 2 cards using the blue – purple combination. Using purple glitter paper, I die cut a balloon from the Papertreyink Balloon Shaker Shapes and die cut a text block for the other card.

I attached a gold string to the balloon and attached it to the card. I kept the cards pretty simple because the paper is very pretty and it just didn’t need much else.

This turned out to be a really fun Make It Monday.
