This card is for the Papertreyink Paper Crafting Alphabet Challenge.
The challenge was to use the first 3 or more letters of your first or last name to find out what elements you should add to your card. Since my name is Katherine I chose to use Kat – which meant I need to add:
K – Use Kraft cardstock
A – Add a Border
T – Tie on some twine
I thought this would be very easy until I decided that I must use foil! Eek! I started using Flitter Glu to stamp several different images (flowers, greenery, etc) and not much was working. Finally I reached for my Sparkle and Shine set to stamp with the large sequin stamp. I tapped the glue on using an ink blending tool and began stamping all over the kraft background. I placed Rose gold foil on top and ran through my laminator. I loved the way it looked. I tried covering the Happy die cut with Rose gold foil, too, but it didn’t work at all.
I flipped over my green hexagon and added a Happy diecut from the same patterned paper I used for my border. After adding some twine, I put it all together. I am really happy with the way it came out but I had to work for it!!
I feel like the card is much prettier in person – it is so hard to capture the foil and I must confess it is late and I am ready to watch Downton Abbey!
Have a great night!
