Happy Leap Year! It is always fun when leap year comes around.
Today I made a card that worked for 2 challenges, the Papertreyink Ombre Stenciled Background and SSS Take a leap into the unknown.
I haven’t created an Ombre stencil background before so this is unknown to me.
I was in Michael’s the other day and saw a new Recollections line called Color Splash. It is an Ombre watercolor style and they had Ombre ink pads. I have a few of these style pads from other vendors but I wanted to try this brand.
I used PTI Stamper’s select white cardstock for my base.
After watching Betsy Veldman’s video, I worked on my own Ombre Background.
I taped down a stencil and used the same color pattern to add the stencil part.
Once I stamped “birthday,” I added some die cut paper flowers and added Clear Wink of Stella to Happy. It turned out a little darker than I wanted but overall I am happy with it. This just means I have to try again!
This card is for Papertrey Ink Make It Monday #241 Ombre Stenciled backgrounds and Simon Says Stamp Monday Challenge: Take a Leap Into the unknown.
