The card is for Simon Says Stamps Challenge – Stencil It.
I had a little time this week to work with stencils for the challenge. I am still learning how to use all the pastes (matte, gloss, etc) and learn their properties. It has been fun.
I used this Tim Holtz stencil on part of a piece of watercolor paper. After drying, I dabbed Spun Sugar and Abandoned Coral stains on the card. It ended up a very soft color and you can see the roses peeking out. I added a foam die cut from the new Hero Arts release and put gold foil on the top. After tying on a gold ribbon I mounted it to Crisp Cantaloupe from Stampin Up.
Love your subtle colouring on this Valentine, very elegant! I love stencils too, so easy to get effective results. Thank you for your nice comment on my blog.
What a pretty card! Love the soft colors and how the rose stencil comes through the inks!
